NEC INFORMS HOR OF DELAY IN PROCURING BIOMETRIC VOTERS REGISTRATION EQUIPMENT

The Plenary of the Honorable House of Representatives- HOR has mandated its leadership committee to take seize of a notification from the National Elections Commission- NEC stating delay in procuring biometric equipment for the Voter Registration.

The National Elections Commission notification was contained in a communication to the august body dated February 17, 2023 under the signature of its Chairperson, Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah.

“I convey compliments on behalf of the National Elections Commission (NEC), and write to inform your honorable office that the biometric equipment for the Voter Registration has not arrived in the county”, Madam Brown Lansanah added.

According to her, in consultation with the technicians, it is possible to conduct testing of the System in the presence of members of the Legislature, and will revert on the timeframe for such joint demonstration.
