Speaker Chambers Condemns Anti-Peace Statements by Former Vice President Boakai and Senator Prince Johnson Ahead of Elections
House Speaker, Dr. Bhofal Chambers, has termed terroristic and anti-peace statements made by Former Vice President, Joseph Boakai and Nimba County Senator, Prince Johnson.
Addressing the media in Pleebo Sodoken District Monday, Speaker Chambers, said void of proper interpretation by the authors, the statements are anti-democratic.
According to him, the Economic Community of West Africa- ECOWAS has been contacted to ensure mechanisms are instituted to deter such actions.
“As a nation, we have made significant strides in the pursuit of peace and reconciliation. Our democratic system relies on the fair and peaceful conduct of elections, where every citizen’s voice is heard. Irresponsible rhetoric and attempts to incite violence have no place in our society”. Chambers averred.

The Speaker condemned the assertions and assured Liberians of lasting peace under the continuity leadership of President George Weah.
Speaker Chamber calls on all political leaders, including former Vice President Joseph Boakai, to prioritize the well-being of Liberia and its citizens. “We urge him and others to refrain from making statements that can potentially lead to violence and to instead engage in constructive dialogue and debate as we approach the elections”. Speaker asserts.
In the spirit of unity and national progress, House speaker Chambers called on all political parties, civil society organizations, and citizens to promote peace, tolerance, and respect for one another’s views. Stating that Citizens must work together to ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted in an atmosphere of trust and transparency.
