“I AM MY OWN INSPIRATION” -Liberian Rnb, Afro-Pop Artist Muzikal Asserts

Liberian hit Rnb, Afro-Pop artist, George Kabbah alias Muzikal has disclosed that over the time spend in the music industry he has inspired himself, which has kept him growing in the industry. 

27yrs old Muzikal said that based on his family up bring and self-esteem, he has over time kept to his dream of becoming a musical celebrity in Liberia and around the work by remaining focused and determined.

According to him, he is no longer an underground artist because he got some hit songs including, “Respect the Jue Them”, “Enjoy”, Gee I her (or Inside Jail), and “Show Yourself” amongst others.

Muzikal, who hailed from Lofa County, is a graduate of Thomas Fallah high school and started singing in high school with the quest to become a musical icon in the country and on the world stage.

“Upon my graduation from high school, I traveled to India to further education after which I returned to the country early last year and I decided to start resume music career professionally” he disclosed in an exclusive interview with Kukutonon News.

Muzikal emphasized that his career was not inspired by any other artist, be it local or international but rather by himself through the help of God.

He now sees himself in the Nigerian singer and songwriter, Augustine Miles Kelechi (born December 17, 1990), popularly known as Tekno.

“In the industry, Tekno from Nigeria is my role model as we and got so many similarities, and qualities, like he’s a songwriter, dancer, and produce” he averred; adding, “He has his recording studio as well as I also have ‘Kabbah Music Record’ which are qualities that make music sweeter”.

The youngster said that he was born with music, and started singing in the church down the line and playing the organs and other musical instruments used in the music industry.

According to him, although he presently managed himself from the onset of his musical till the present, he looks forward to seeing the music industry of Liberia grow to the point where musicians will be managed and guarded by their managers to boost their professionalism.

 “Music is a spiritual thing, and I do not write when the inspections don’t come to me, so all of my songs, I take my time to write them and so far am one of the few musicians in Liberia that write the lyrics of the son before going to studio” he stated.  

Highlighting the challenges in the music industry, Muzikal said the industry is faced with a lot of challenges ranging from a lack of better recording studios in the country as well as the lack of support from the government other meaningful Liberia which is impeding the growth of the music sector of Liberia.
