The Joint Security team recently performed a crowd dispersal drill drama that demonstrated, their readiness and capability to quash any electoral violence particularly post-electoral violence that might flare up due to dissatisfaction over results.
“As part of the 66th celebrations of the Armed forces of Liberia, today’s display will be executed by the Armed Forces of Liberia and the Liberia National Police in a joint operation drill co-named, Firm Shield”.
Furthermore, the moderator and director of the drill, Major J. L. Haines, utilized, the time to admonish aggrieved citizens and the rightful authorities, to look into what they believed was electoral malpractice.
Similarly, it is worthwhile to state that during the Drama, Protesters expressed their grievances by singing slogans and when the Police intervened, stones were thrown at them, and when things escalated, the military had to get involved and arrest the gang leader and peace was restored.
