Police Arrests Six Persons in UL Main Campus Violence
The Liberia National Police has disclosed that six persons have been arrested in connection to the Monday, March 14, 2023 violence that interrupted normal academic activities at the University of Liberia.
Those arrested include: Jeremiah Pauja, 24, Austin Toe, 26, Stephen Brown, 27, Ruther Ford Kpaseh, 26, Abduraharam Jalloh, 24, and Edwin Targbeh, 24.
These suspects are currently in the custody of LNP and are undergoing investigation.
According to a release, the LNP urges every citizen to desist from violence and work towards consolidating the peace and security of the state.
Officers of the LNP reportedly came under stone-throwing attacks when a false alarm was raised by Jeremiah Pauja who claimed that the LNP vehicle hit him. This resulted in the arrest of six rioters.
Meanwhile, the LNP has confirmed that an Emergency Response Unit Police marked vehicle’s front windshield damaged and five officers sustained bodily injuries.
