The Executive Protective Services (EPS) Deputy Director for Operations, Seward Briggs, has been awarded for his dedication, professionalism and exemplary leadership expertise in helping to keep President George Manneh Weah safe.
Deputy Director Briggs was given the prestigious award by a group of Journalists known as the Strategic Journalist Committee.
Whilst bestowing the award upon Deputy Director Briggs, the Chairman of the Strategic Journalist Committee, Veteran Journalist Rhodoxon Fayiah, extolled Director Briggs for his hard work and assiduousness in executing his purposes as one of the astute leaders of the elite presidential guard force known as the EPS.
“You are very intelligent in your work. We have observed a lot of things around and of late, what attracts us is your performance in protecting the president”, Fayiah underscored. Fayiah furthered “Our main reason for identifying with you is to encourage you so that your protection of the president will help move this country forward”.
Deliberating further, Veteran Journalist Fayiah, revealed that security pieces of advice given to the president by the EPS Deputy Director for Operations, Seward Briggs and others have over time yielded good results.
“In your performance of duties, we have comprehended that you are doing your best to reach a certain level and we have come today to encourage Hon. Seward Briggs. There are challenges and everybody knows about that but do not let those challenges bring you down” the Chairman of the Strategic Journalist Committee averred.
Also, Chairman Fayiah, declared “whenever we present such awards to outstanding personalities, he/she takes also walks away with a cash award and noted that Deputy Director Briggs award is very remarkable and comes, with a certificate that will forever be remembered by him and his children for his contributions to the Liberian society through the immense contribution of the security sector.
The inscription on the certificate stated “This Certificate of Honor is awarded to Hon. Seward Briggs, for his exemplary leadership shown over the years for his devoted service in protecting the president of Liberia, especially in the wake of the recent arms and ammunition discovery and seizure at the Free Port of Monrovia and thereby, keeping the peace of the Liberian people. We, therefore, present this special honor Branded “Most Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of the Year 2022-2023 given on the 18th of January 2023.
While receiving the certificate of honor, the EPS Deputy Director for Operations, Seward Briggs, applauded the members and dynamic leadership of the Strategic Journalists Committee, for recognizing his performances over the past years and cited, that the award is one that he loves and cherishes a whole lot and will serve as a memorabilia for him.
“I Am so overwhelmed by this award and I must commend you for it, I did not know that when you working, others are looking at you. But let me say that I am delighted and very grateful for such an award” he specified. The Strategic Journalist Committee was founded in 2007 with the motive of strengthening the Press Union of Liberia, advocacy for Press Freedom, and other national issues that propagate the growth and development of Liberia.
